Fishing Geek: A person with an eccentric devotion to fishing

I am a fishing geek.  I love all the gadgets that come with fishing. Living in Grass Valley, California I have a wide variety of lakes and rivers to fish.  Fly fishing or trolling for trout you can find me on my SUP fishing many of the foothills lakes including: Lower Scotts Flat, Englebright, Rollins Lake and Fuller lake.  I’ll fish the ocean and Florida Keys whenever I can.

I’ll be straight with you – I am not the worlds best fisherman – or even close.  I started trout fishing a few years ago when I moved to California.  I was so bad at it that I needed a cheat sheet to figure out what flies were in my box what knots to tie and what a mayfly looked like.  That’s how I came up with StreamCharts. Figuring that I wasn’t the only one in this spot, I published it and offer it for sale here.  I started fishing lakes from a kayak soon after.  That didn’t work out to well for me.  That is when I discovered Stand Up Paddle boards (SUP) and have been happily fishing on one ever since.  At least once a year I will go to Marathon in the Florida Keys to fish a tournament for Dolphin (Mahi Mahi or Dorado).  I’ll also try and get away to Costa Rica or Mexico whenever I can.
